Soulcraft in Latvia

In 2018, with the blessing of Animas Valley Institute (USA), we began inviting guides personally trained by Bill Plotkin to offer his unique work here in the Baltics. Since then, anyone interested can participate in these transformative programmes in the forests of Latvia and on the Baltic coast.

Our mission is to create an environment where a person can return to their roots, hear the voice of nature and discover their true soul calling. We believe that through a deep connection with nature we heal not only ourselves but also the world around us.

Bill Plotkin

Bill Plotkin (Ph.D.)

Bill Plotkin is a depth psychologist, wilderness guide and cultural evolution agent. As founder of Animas Valley Institute (1981 in Colorado), he has guided thousands of women and men through nature-based initiation processes.

In 1979, during a solo winter ascent of an Adirondack peak, Bill experienced a calling to adventure that led him to leave academia to seek his true calling. He is the author of books such as "Soulcraft: Crossing into the Mysteries of Nature and Psyche" and "Wild Mind: A Field Guide to the Human Psyche" — an ecocentric map of the psyche for healing and cultural transformation.

"Stacija" in Lūžņa

The retreat centre "Stacija" is located in Oviši Nature Park, just 400 metres from the sea. It is one of four places that remain in the former village of Lūžņa.

During the Soviet occupation, village development was halted for military reasons, which, although tragic for history, allowed this place to remain untouched by mass agriculture and construction. Here, the peace, silence and wildness of nature prevail, ideal for soul work. We believe that retreats held here are necessary not only for people but also for the land itself to be reborn.
